HELP! Tadpole ID Can anyone help me ID this tadpole? I collected him/her and about 50 of his brothers/sisters (in egg form) from a fairly large pond in central North Carolina on May 10th, 2009. They "hatched" a few days later and seemed to be progressing normally. I had no idea what kind of frog these eggs had come from but have recently started to think they are leopard frog taddies. It has now been almost exactly 3 months, however, and no legs! I know this means they could be bullfrog tadpoles, but they don’t seem big enough. The largest, whose pics I have posted, is only about 2 and 3/4 inches long. Some of the others are much, much smaller. I had them all in a 10 gallon tank filled 3/4 of the way full until last week, when I put a few in my small backyard pond, kept 10 in the tank, and released the rest back to their mothership pond. Could their lack of appendages be due to overcrowding? Are they bullfrogs, or just slow leopards? Please help! Thanks!!!

Haha that’s cool, I used to have leopard frogs until I had to move, and we released them back. They are really neat. My 5 started growing their back legs just recently and hopefully they will have their front legs soon.
