 Mid-change tadpoles

Hello! I have two bullfrog tadpoles. One had been slowly growing his back legs, I left him in the care of a friend for a week and... BAM! his front legs suddenly grew in. His tail has been shrinking, he has a full jaw now, his eyes are moving higher on his head, etc. His buddy, though, is more than a month behind in his development, as he’s only begun to grow his back legs.

My question is, though, how do I care for him in this transitional phase? And how do I set up the tank to accomidate two frogs in different states of development? The two tadpoles are currently in a 10 gallon tank which is filled to near the top, with a small filter running. I purchased a floating turtle ramp to allow the more developed frog to crawl out, and he’s already taken advantage of this new feature. A cover on the tank prevents him from making a break for freedom. Will the current set up be addequate for both of them, until my second tadpole finally grows in his front legs? Is it true that tadpoles don’t need to eat after their front legs grow in, as they absorb their tail? What should I change his diet to once his tail is absorbed? Small crickets and the like?

Thank you!
