Message To: Riezing In reference to Message Id: 1405463 Tegu temperment?
it depends on the tegu itself. columbians aren’t very tolerent to handling, but there could be an off chance that you buy a columbian thats nice and a tempermental argentive b/w. i for one think all tegu’s are cool, but the best one’s to go with would either be the argentine b/w, blue tegu, or the red tegu. argentine b/w:most are docile and easily ajust to human attention. it all depends on the animals personality. size- some can reach 3-5 feet long. diet- they eat alot, as do all tegu that i know of for sure. they can have crawdad, turkey, collard greens, mustard greens, fruits, mice, rats (if they are big enough), fish occasionally, sometimes chicken, dog/cat food (not recomended), eggs, insects, and many more. cage size- an 8 ft long tank that is about 3-4ft wide is a good cage. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ red tegu: mostly docile and easily tame when handled enough. personality depends on the reptile itself. size- from about 3-5 feet long. reds and argentine b/w’s are normally about the same size. diet- they eat alot, as do all tegu that i know of for sure. they can have crawdad, turkey, collard greens, mustard greens, fruits, mice, rats (if they are big enough), fish occasionally, sometimes chicken, dog/cat food (not recomended), eggs, insects, and many more. cage size- an 8 ft long tank that is about 3-4ft wide is a good cage. --reds can get skin damage and other skin related things more easily than other tegu. just a precaution.-- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ blue tegu: cope well with human interaction, as do the argentine b/w and red tegu. are rare to find sold. they sell out EXTREMELY QUICKLY because they are of high demand in the pet trade. size- from about 2-3 feet. i’m not sure if they grow larger than that. they are reletively small compared to other tegu. diet- they eat alot, as do all tegu that i know of for sure. they can have crawdad, turkey, collard greens, mustard greens, fruits, mice, rats (if they are big enough), fish occasionally, sometimes chicken, dog/cat food (not recomended), eggs, insects, and many more. cage size- a 6 ft long tank that is al least 3 ft wide is good, though bigger is often better. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ i hope this helped out!!! |
