 New columbian

here’s my main man basking. he’s about 1.5 months old. this pic is kinda outdated but i’ve got him in a 4x3x3 enclosure now with eco earth mixed with the bark substrate. he eats like a horse and goes thro several dozen crickets a day as well as several superworms and waxworms. the leg twitching has stopped since he’s in his new uvb enclosure (dam pet store) i’ll get more pics when i get a new camera.

and despite all the hype about aggresive columbians he has been very docile so far. the first day i got him he bit me a few times but since then he’s been pretty calm. the trick seems to be to pick him up in a loose hand and not to restrain him at all. when the hand tightens he starts looking bitey. 20 mins of holding a day are also helping alot. pretty calm over all.

do you get him out every day? i don’t know if it’s a good idea or not since he is small but mine is around 2feet long and when i first got him i got him out pretty much every day and he started to get mean cause he wanted to be left alone, so now i only get him out 2 times a week. if yours start to get aggressive i suggest you do the same since he is little still

nice columbian, and it’s good to hear he’s doing better. actually, if he’s aggressive thats a good thing. it means he really healthy and ready to fight if he had to! lol but yah, columbians are hard to work with, so good job so far dude. hope all works out for you and your new tegu. here’s my new baby, Rubin.

he’s not a columbian nor is he aggressive, but i just figured i’d post up a pic since your tread is about baby tegus! lol
