 Which is the Best Tegu For Me

Hey guys I was wondering if you could tell me if a Tegu is right for me. WHat is the smallest specie. I cant have an 8’ viv setup in my room. I would probably let him run around my room so he wouldent be kept in his cage all hte time. Thanks appreciate it if you could help

columbians and blues are known to be the smallest, but columbians have the worst temperment i know, you might as well go for an argentine black and white tegu, or red tegus, which will get to about 4’ and about 6 or more pounds depeneding on how much you feed it
go for a blue tegu, they stay about 3’ long and stay very tame and nice, if you raise it was a baby, if you plan on roaming it free, get a big rubbermaide container so that you can put some substrate, water bowl, basking area, and a hide for him

whatever species you go with you will still need a big cage even though it may free roam alot. If you can not accomadate large enclosures then you can not (properly) accomodate a large lizard.

I was kind of in the same boat. I wanted a tegu, but didn’t really have room to spare for the gigantic cage. So I opted for a skink.
