 Patches finally shedding!!!/UPDATE...

yep, today i went into patches enclosure and looked at him, and these huge flaps of skin were peeling of the top and bottom of his head!!!
(he looked like a big red banana!!! lol)

it also came off of his arms and toes so no ringing, YES!!!

should I help him pull the skin off or let him do it himself???
cuz i pulled a little off of his head and he seemed to be relieved.=]

**UPDATE**

patches is showing alot of improvement!!!
his burns are healing fantasticly, and he is eating like, well, a tegu!!!

he seems to like cantaloupe alot.
as well as this monitor diet stuff.

he has yet to take a whole rat yet though. any tips???

he also loves digging and rolling in the mud of my mom’s organic garden!!! mwahahaha!!!!
they think its cats!!!! lol

I would let him shed on his own. If he does have problems with shedding then I would just mist him and gently work off the shed. I’m glad he’s doing better. Your Red Tegu made me get my Argentine B&W Tegu. As for feeding rats I would start off with feeding a few adult mice at first and see his response and whatnot. You also have to be careful with feeding rats since they have teeth that can do some damage to Patches’ mouth. Get some pictures up of his healing wound and of him. I would love to see them. Alex

this is the part of him i am most concerned with...





Oh and on the rat subject, I’m not going to do live right away I’m trying F/T first.=]

wow his color is awesome under that loose skin. i cant wait to see him once he sheds. make sure you post more pictures when its all off.

so does anyone have any advice on his scar and the skin coming off of it???
it seems to be really sensitive...

I heard you could put olive oil or something on it to soften the skin???
