 I have a few questions my fellow tegu owners...

ima be re-doing my tegus tank again and ima use cypress mulch as the bedding and ima add a new water dish and branches and another hideout and a rock or 2.....but my 1st question is...wat type of meter should i use to detect the temp in the tank...2. wat exactly is basking? 3. and my tegu is on large crickets right now but i wanna make sure hes getting his vitamins and calcium...so is there any supplements i can buy him? get back 2 me guys....and thank u all for ur feedback....

to answer your first question... you shouldnt have only one temperature gauge ... you should have multiple in a larger cage.
What i use in both of my cages is a Vaneer temperature probe (actually about 5), to get the accurate temperatures.
Theres should be a distinct hot side and cool side in the tank

Basking lol... is used to increase the internal temperature of your herp, seeing as reptiles are exothermic their muscles do not produce enough energy to heat themselves like mammals. You can either use a heat lamp or a heating pad.

3rd... yes, there are powder supplements that you can dust your crickets in before feeding. I also saw that you only feed your baby herp once a week? If this is tru you need to feed him once a DAY!

kool...thanks alot mike......i appreciate it....well i thought since he was a baby he wont eat much...but ill start feeding him everyday...and by the way....can i start giving him fruits yet?

Umm, if he eats them sure ... but most at that age will not, they are born carnivorous and as they grow they become more omnivorous...

I currently have two b/ws one is about 7 months and the other about 10 both have been accepting fruits and veggies for a good while... umm i had a food list posted but it was removed for excessive flaming. I will private message it to you when i have a free minute
