 Tegus and monitors get along?????

wats up my peeps....i currently now have a colombian b&w and i wanted to buy a nile monitor.....and i thought to myself...is it a good idea for them to share 1 tank 2gether or is there gonna be sum friction? wat do u guys think

Tegus come from South America. Nile monitors come from Africa. They need totally different care.

Plus, an adult Nile would look at a tegu as a hefty meal.

thanks for all ur input guys...i just ask cuz as crazy as it sounds a friend of mine has a 220 gallon and its home to an arg b&w tegu and a savannh monitor which is not tame and they never conflicted

its hard alot of times to keep two of the same species of reptiles together without having problems let alone different species that dont even live in the same continent.

Niles are really aggressive. That’s a huge no.
Even if they got along as babies, once that nile gets kinda big it’s gonna be beating up the tegu. If you have a really big cage though (pool sized or room sized) you could keep turtles or something with the tegu.

uhhh a nile can get almost twice the size as your tegu especially if your tegu only hits the 3-3.5 foot range.........it would take up the majority of the space of the cage before it eats your tegu
