 Help on waking it up.....
hey i was wondering how do you guys wake up your tegus if theyre sleeping...i have a almost 4 foot argentine b&w tegu and shes a female.....anyone can help...i jus dont wanna grab her out her sleep..so wat can i do

well i did that and i think i kind of startled her and scared her...like she flinched and took a real deep breathe....so i was wondering wat i can do besides jus grabbin her...but thanks...lol

Help on waking it up.....
Make "adjustments" around the cage to wake her up and make your presence known. Move the water bowl, level out the substrate, fix a hide, etc. Then rub her back to get her to stand up and then put your hand under her belly, pick her up and grab the base of her tail to assure her that she’s safe.

Yeah personally I would never wanna wake my tegu up except once when I didnt know he was under the water bowl and I had to clean it.....Maybe you can tap the tail a little to make your tegu walk a bit and get it to wake up a bit?

Eh, ive always just grabbed them ... by the time i unlock the lock and open the door they already heard me and they are still just in doze mode, so they know im there they just havent opened their eyes yet. But do whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
By the way, Zeke is finally at my house for the summer!!

Well congrats to mike.s on zeke...and i actually never wake her up but i wanted to see if she was actually in there somewhere in the bedding so i jus grabbed and grabbed her out my second shot in the bedding and she was a bit i guess scared but other than that i dont bother her unless i need to fix sumthin
