Personally i wouldnt, think about where they live, then ask yourself is honey readily available as a food source there. The answer, is no. Honey is a very thick and sticky substance, that if he has trouble swallowing for some reason (kind of like food going down the wrong tube) he cannot cough that back up. Its way to thick. Although, that may be an extreme, anything is possible and i would never be caught dead feeding any of my herps honey. |

This is to Lazzo01, The reason that honey shouldnt be fed to herps is listed above, there is also the fact that their saliva does not contain the proper enzyme to break down the honey. As for health, honey is extremely healthy, think about what its made for... its made for the baby bees, its more or less like breast milk, which contains alot of lipids (fats), protein, and sugars, along with many vitamins and a few minerals. But again, lizards do not have the proper enzyme to break it down, thus having to swallow it in is pure state, which is extremely thick and could get stuck in the throat, blocking air flow through the tracea. |
