 Black and white or red tegu?

i have a red tegu that iv had for nearly a year hes growth rate has been amazing. Some days he will let you hold him for abit and other days he thinks hes a croc and tries to roll out of your hands

I often wonder if i should of gone for the black and white instead of the red as iv been told the black and whites get tamer, is this true?

also which gets bigger the black and white or the red? iv heard alot of difffernt opinions

im not sure about the taming part

the largest breed of tegu is the Extreme Giants (also known by the name Chocoan Giants) that Varnyard-herps sells. between the normal argentine b/w and the argentine red, the red is the bigger of the 2

they’re both argentines, from my experience, the reds tend to be a little tamer, but i say it all really depends on what you feed it, live or dead, if your prey item is dead there is no need for violence and eventually become tame, which is not always true

hey coults. i curently have one of each a b/w and a red about 5-6 mths old. i havent really noticed much of a difference in temperment other than that my red is more shy than the b/w.as far as tameing you gotta earn there trust. dont just grab at him/her when your going to handle then be gentle with em. but dont worry they calm down more when they get older. if you need more try talking to bobby at tegutalk.com he can help more than i.

the black and white seems to take its ground and the reds seem to run away the black and white Argentine is the biggest and i believe it is known as the smartest lizard in the world but I’m not sure that’s wut i heard they are both easy to tame if u handle them from babies to adults if it does the death roll u u need to make sure ur supporting all limbs tail and stomach if u need some more help with ur tegu email me at at4320047@hot mail.com
