Argentine VS Columbian
well 1st off argentines are way more nicer than colombians but thats my opinion. argentines are way more docile and easier to deal with then colombians. if u choose to have a colombian u must make sure that u dedicate alot of time to them cuz they tend to be not so nice but i had a colombian and he was pretty cool and plus my dedication...he turned out just fine but they dont grow as big..on the other hand i have a baby argentine now along with my adult female and male...and i love them...and i have a baby gold aswell...but i just love argentines alot more. argentines are more docile and plus your time...theyll be great when older but they grow bigger than colombians so be prepared to have a big space for theyre enclosure..and remember...the bigger the better

Argentine VS Columbian
Argentines generally are a lot more docile, but I enjoy the fact that colombians are more athletic.

Argentine VS Columbian Well, I have read that the Columbian tegus can not breed in the US. I dont think anyone has bred them in the US atleast. The columbians have smooth scales throughout unlike the Args which have bead like skin on the sides. There is also a price difference. I would personally go with Args since I know a few breeders in the US that breeds them and Im sure of the animal’s health when I get it. You will most likely be buying an import if you get a columbian. But this is ofcourse just what Ive read. Ohh Im gonna have to second that args are much easier to tame. Even when I first got my arg B/W tegu he was already calm.

Argentine VS Columbian I would say order from Varnyard Herps or Agama International. Bobby and Bert are both pros in breeding tegus. I dont know if male or female really matters. I have a pair and they are both calm and never bite. Both eats well, and never has problems. Feeding is a good topic. They eat ALOT of different kind of things. Mike S has a great list of foods they eat. Try searching his thread for feeding. Use a variety of foods depending on what you can find and afford. I use many fruits, mice/rats, chicks, turkey, crickets, veggies, and whatever else I have around that they can eat. Feed daily for young tegus and every few days to adults depending on how "fat" they look. Hope you get one and post pics soon!
