Too much handleing?
he is doing well eating and has seems to get more and more tame every day he is about 16’’ so still young, since I have such a easy time holding my Tegu now how much is it ok for me to have him out a day? when its sunny, I take him out in the morning and he lays on my stomach and basks in the sun for usually about a half hour then gets nice and warm and becomes ansy and gets bored of sitting on my chest so I let him roam the yard a little ( well supervised) and put him back in his cage then later in the day I also take him out for close to half hour sessions Everything I have read says too handle your young Tegu alot to get them used too you but my question is should I have a limit on how many times I take him out or how long I hold him each day? |

Mine have done this a few times and as soon as they touch grass the tail goes up. |

Then gently pick it up just enough to have it sit in your hand but still on the floor of the tank... if it tries to get off you let it and let its tail slide between fingers too, but NO grabbing it hehehe Lots of contact but let it freely walk away from you when it wants. |
