 Just a quik question

i am possibly thinking about geting a tegu they sooooo cool but if i where to get two(a male and a female) would they still possibly have problems with each other or are they almost certain to bond? also if you could tell me the caging requirments for one tegu and then two tegus that would be great!!!thanks!!

Tegus are territorial, buddy. They dont need nor do they really want tank mates. Breeding in adult hood would be one thing, but just to have as a pet.... stick with one.

Tegu’s are social ...I have 3 in 1 enclosure living great together and sleep with each other just fine and they all take turns lying on top of each other so it is not like they is any dominence issues either.
Look up tegu attention on youtube and you can see that the tegu’s in that video are all good together.

Now putting 2 males togther will give you grief!!! But a male and female should be fine as long as they have lots of room and a couple places they can go to get away from each other, because just like married couples heheh sooner or later you just don’t feel like sitting on the same couch LOL

Hey Trapt.... I currently have 6 tegus of which 4 are tamed down , 1 is still a bit jumpy and I just got 1 that was marked as unhandable at a pet store...3 that are housed together are all adults.
You saying territorial has me wondering what you have and when you see this action at its peak because here the only time I ever have any aggression is at feeding time because they all want first bite.

Reptilover---you are looking at an 8x4 cage at least 3 feet high for adults to have the room they need.
Also you have to work with them everyday or 2 to tame them down or you will have trouble handling and dealing with them. THEY ARE NOT beginner reptilers by any stretch of the imagination so take extra time to do all your research and you will have great pets otherwise you will have demon spawn and it will be bad for both you and the animal/s
