How big is your tegu? You may want to try letting him take a bath in bath temp. for 1/2 hours a day to help get the skin off. My friend does that with her black & white and it does help him. I haven’t had a problem like that but I did talk with my breeder and she said to try and keep the mulch moist but enough that it still feels dry in your hand and to try to keep it alittle more humid in the cage to help to. Hope this helps.

Most do through a fit. I have found the easiest way to pick up a tegu is if you reach and grabbed behind his ears at his neck with your other hand to support his lower body and tail. Also you can wear gloves or use a towel to get him out of the tub (if you use your tub). Also if you place some card board over the lid of your tank it (still so some air can get)with keep it more humid. Good luck.

Give your Tegu a moist hide box. A rubbermaid with a hole cut in the side works well. Fill it with some substrate that holds moisture...you want it damp but not dripping wet. This should help with any shedding problems. If he still has some spots that are stuck really tight, apply a little A&D ointment on those spots.
