 What kind of toad?

I’ve had what I thought was an American Toad for almost a year now, but now I am not so sure. I found him outside my house, I live in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. He looks like an American Toad, but has NO spots on his belly. He has enlarged warts on his tibias, and it looks like both his cranial crests are very close to his parotid glands. One of his dark spots has 5 warts while the other has 3. He is a boy because of his dark throat and mating calls. This is the only picture I can find of him on my computer (from a year ago) but he is much larger now.

I have to agree, looks like an American toad. However, it is very difficult for me to see the head of the toad to completely distinguish it from a southern toad and an American toad.

I will try to get some more pictures and post them. The reason I am wondering if it is not an American is because of his belly having no spots at all and then him having more than 2 warts in his dark spots.

 What kind of toad?

Due to the amount of spots it could be bufo terrestris, but if it is only in one spot then it could still be bufo americanus, which is less likely to have more than two spots, but not impossible.

he is beautiful! i believe your toad is a Bufo Americanus they can range from yellow with strips or spots, forest green, light brown, to a tan color. what i believe is that you have found a very rare toad considering that he has no spots on his under side. you are very lucky! hope i helped!
