Igot my first toads-their wild and babies

OK,so i went w/my mom and brother to check out our new house and meet the owner. My brother and I
where walking around and the grass moved-my brother thought that it was a cricket so we bent down to take a look and it was a little toad. My mom, brother, and i kept walking and found 4 more. 2 are the size of my thumb nail and three are the size of my pinkie nail. I don’t know what to feed the little guys!!!

I’d let them go. At that size, they’ll probably need fruit flies, aphids, etc on a dailly basis in order to grow up healthy. Outside, they’ll find small bugs pretty much wherever you put them. A toad that’s out in the grass all night long has more time to hunt than its owner would.

i don’t really want to let them go...but i did catch a few fruit flies and they were dead flies.I wet my fingernail and stuck the flie on it and made it ’’fly’’ around them. They ate them and i made sure that they each got one. Tonight when my mom was friing up meat i wondered if i could feed small bits to them. Would that be ok?

No. At their size, there’s really no such thing as a small amount of anything. It would be feeding an infant a McDonalds burger. They need fruit flies, mosquitoes, Canadian soldiers, aphids, or some tiny insect like that. Enough to fill up on, not just one fly each. Every day. You’d have more room for error if they were older, but if they were older they’d be big enough for crickets. The good news is, if you do your job right they ought to be big enough for baby crickets pretty soon.
Actually, this is a little morbid, but what you did with the flies gave me an idea. First of all, shop around for baby crickets. If you can find them small enough, great. if you can’t, just buy what’s available. And then cut them in half lengthwise with a utility razor. Remove the hind legs, because if the cricket is too big for the toad to easily swallow whole then the hind legshells are an impaction hazard. Most toads start out only eating live food, but if they’ll eat dead then you can, if necessary, feed them on half-crickets until they’re ready for full ones.

Dude get over it.. Let them go. I would just research first, buy a toad or frog and be good. I mean, i used to caught stuff and keep it, but not i just let them all go after i find something I’ll like hold them for a minute then release them back. They will probably die because of the size and you not knowing how to care for them correctly.
