Thought I would let people know...
I know the water dish is silly and doesn’t look realistic, but its shallow, she uses it, and it was cheap. She is the size of a quarter now, I’ve had her for about a week. I think she’s comfortable because every now and then she’ll come out of her favorite place and kind of watch what i’m doing. Although you can’t see it, I do have a light that I set on top of the tank that is from a much smaller tank. What I had as her original name has been changed to Little Miss The reason why things in there are wet, is because I sprayed it down with a spray bottle. I only use bottled water. Is there anything else I should be doing? Or anything else I should get? Here’s a few pics:

I really like the substrate, what is it? It would look great in one of my other tanks.I would suggest keeping it a bit moister than what it currently is.You want to avoid dust. As long as you also got food and supplements, you shouldn’t need anything else for her. More plants and hides are optional. As for hibernation, toas do not have to go through it to survive in captivity.Hibernation is generally for breeding purposes. You can avoid sending her into hibernation by keeping your lights on the same schedule all year, providing lots of food, and keeping the tank at the same temperatue all year. |

The substrate is just dirt that I sifted through a strainer, so I could make sure there were no small rocks or things she could choke on. I know, I need to use something else. Yet the only thing that the closest pet store has was reptile bark, and I heard that was dangerous. |

Ha, yes I use a dog dish. Its fairly large, but I had extra room in my 20 long. Both my toads can happily fit in it at one time. |
