 I’m a new owner and i need hellllppppp!!!!

I found a toad in my backyard in IL and I think its a American toad and Idon’t know what its habitat looks like also don’t know what it eat.

ok they eat the following:

*Crickets
*Flies (some dont like them tho mine dont)
*Grass hoppers
*ants (some toads are to big to notice them tho)
*potato bugs
*Ect.

They will basicly eat any bug. no fruits or veg. they dont digest them very well.


if you are planning on keeping it you will need the following:


*a tank. (you can also use a window well they work very well. but it also depends on the size of the toad.)

*either potting soil (without the beads) or you can buy coco fiber and the pet store.

*a water dish (big enough for him/her to sit in)

*fake or real plants (make sure they will not pock your toad or harm it in anyway)

* either some small wood peaces or small pots for it to hide in.

*and some food! (:
