Algae harmful to FBT? I don’t see why algae might be harmful to fire belly toads, since they don’t get oxygen from the water... but I have a waterfall made out of sandstone slates... and the part where water falls over it, there is a lot of algae starting to build up there.. It’s kinda deeply embedded into the sandstone, so scrubbing doesn’t help much.. Does anyone know if this could be harmful at all? It’s kinda gross looking, but hey more natural looking i guess heh.. I’m going to probably turn off the waterfall for a week and see if it goes away..

Algae harmful to FBT? I don’t believe it would.. Mine has some green algea on a few of the stone in mine.. they do fine. Just clean the algea off after it builds up or before it builds up.

Algae harmful to FBT? Algae is completely harmless, it just looks ugly, it actually benefits your toads, or fish, it’s just htat people think its ugly and don’t care about how beneficial it is to your animals.

Algae harmful to FBT? I hav never heard of algae being harmful to FBT’s. And also what kind of fish can i keep in the water part of FBT tank? Some that can help keep it clean, or they can eat every once in a while?

Algae harmful to FBT? Yeah I am curious too as to what kind of bottom feeders can co-exist with FBTs..
FBTs seem to try to eat everything that moves in the tank..

Algae harmful to FBT? Which is why having a bottom feeder isn’t a good idea. You can try an applesnail. As for fish, the only ones SOME people approve of are guppies, white minnows and rosy reds. The others can hurt their stomach lining. It really depends on your FBT. None of mine like to eat fish so the fish have been in my tank for a year or more.
