 AMERICAN TOAD

Hi, i live in Ann Arbor MI. I was wondering how and where i should look to find American toads. i have wetlands in my back yard and each spring i run out there with a net a raise chorus frog tadpoles. i know Ive seen these cool toads around my house years ago but i haven seen many this year and i wanna catch some to keep for a week or two. i have the right supplies a 15gal tank and crickets for my green anole. i just need to know where to look.

oh yeah i also have a gray tree frog that lives on my roof and every night i flick on my porch light above my deck and he comes down with in minutes and the light attracts moths that he eats. he is about 2.5 inches and he has lived with me for about 3 or 4 years now. sometimes i feed him crickets from my hand. but I’m intrested in geting my hands on an American toad.

 AMERICAN TOAD

Well, I found my toads in the wilderness as well. I live in Maine. I found one out front of my house under a rock just after it had rained. I found my other over to my friends house at night time. He was just hopping around under her trailer.

Yes, they both are american toads.

You can look under wood that is laying around, or larger rocks as well. You can look for them at night. Take a flash light and go hunting for toads, I always find some!

PM me if you need any more help!

Well at that age its hard to tell but i think its a female. Males have blackish colored throats and females have white throats.

well you should not mix diff. types of frog/toads it could be deadly for one or the other taking in each others toxins.
