Coco-fiber molding question It seems my Coco-fiber keeps molding? How do i stop this.. i spray the tanks 1-2 times a day. But i dunno if it’s because the dirt don’t really move or what.. but it starts to mold on top?

Coco-fiber molding question What brand is it? At one point I was using Zilla brand and the whole tank got HUGE pieces of mold! However, I’ve never gotten mold with bed a beast as long as I spot clean once a day.

Coco-fiber molding question How do u spot clean? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question. I am new to the toad forum, just caught a toad last night & trying to learn how to care for him. What I have learned so far is that I need...bed a beast coconut fiber, a shallow water dish, a plant (fake or real) & food. Is this correct or am I missing something? Am I suppose to spray the substrate daily? How many times a day to I feed crickets & how many at a time? The toad I caught is tiny/small so I think it’s a baby. I already have plenty of crickets (because I order them on line for my bearded dragon). I put a few in his temporary tank last night but he doesn’t seem interested. Can I leave the crickets in his tank or will they bite him at night while he is sleeping? Sorry to high jack this post:( I am a new toad owner in need of some help or a little info, so any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated...

Coco-fiber molding question Spot cleaning is scooping out any dead crickets or feces. Both can end up promoting mold if not removed.
Your list sounds correct, except that you need to purchase a hide. I suggest a plastic igloo sold in the rodent section of most pet stores. I feed my toads at night, so I do leave them until morning. Now, if one or two is left over, I won’t remove them. Those crickets most likely got lucky by hiding behind the water dish or hide. If you have most of what you fed left, remove some and do not add more until all the ones in the tank are gone. If you need any help, feel free to PM me.
