He’s GONE!!!!! 
Okay, so I guess my poor little firebelly toad escaped today. I have torn my room apart and looked everywhere! Is there anything I can do? HELP!!!!

Put down a shallow bowl of water. Mine freaked out from Hurricane Hannah’s remnant rain and wind. I found 3 who have escaped but don’t know if there are more out there. Look in dark places and little cracks where you don’t think they’d fit. Mine went out through a very, very small opening.

Oh goodness. Those little escape artists! I had one FBT sneak out of his 10 gallon. I woke up the next morning and there he was all dried out on my carpet. My cat might have got to his too. Now I am upgrading to a 20 gallon which I bought today which is a little taller so hopefully that won’t happen again.
Anyways, to answer your question, do what the person mentioned above about putting out a water dish. You actually might want to put out more than one in different rooms. All you really can do after that is wait and watch where you step!

I am gonna try the water thing, I am also getting another one soon. My other toad is all alone and by himself. I remodled the tank and it looks awesome. I love it. I have some steps going around the tank and plants everywhere, it is just really cool. Now I have another thing to ask. I fed my turtle a redworm yesterday, and he gobbled it right up. and then i gave him another today and he gobbled it roght up. Later I saw him trying to scratch this weird stringy, like slime coating off of him, so i put him in the water to get it off. He crawled up on land and threw up and undigested worm!!!! It is in a ball. Is he gonna be okay?

I feel your pain. I have had fire belly toads escape in the past. I found one, but not the other until it was to late. The setting out the dish is a good idea, but there are no guarantees. my baby toadies got all upset after I cleaned out their tank and rearranged it. shortly after they escaped. they are emotional just like people.

Well, after 3 days of having the water bowl out and their escape, one more has been found. I found him in the water bowl. He didn’t want to be caught but I finally got him! I’m going to leave the bowl out till the end of the week and see if any more show up.

Well, 8 days later and number 5 has been caught soaking in the water bowl on a very humid day. I was going to put the bowl away last week but bad knees kept me from bending. Good thing I didn’t put it away. One more to catch and it’s another humid day so hopefully he’ll need a soak.

And number 6 came out of hiding this morning! He was slow moving compared to the others who gave me a chase. I think he was ready to go back home to the tank. He did start chirping when I put him on a plant leaf. I decided to leave the water out in case any of the others I lost early on come back. I figure I found one that was gone for 10 months so maybe I’ll find a couple that have been gone for 3 years! What’s the harm?

I was laying down in bed last Saturday, and I found my toad... He was dead... Dried up and in my pillow. I was so sad when i found him. I must have squished him with my head at night! He didn’t smell at all. I gave him a burial in my back yard. It really sucked. Just thought I’d let ya all know.
