American toad with broken front leg

My daughters friend dropped our male american toad (edward) and I think his fron leg is broken.
He still hops and can use it to pull himself up but when he hops it kind of lags behind and seems limp.
what should I do for him?

Bring him to a specialist. Sometimes you could get free advice from a reptile petshop. They can tell you if it’s broken or not and tell you where to go and recommend some place. He’s obviously in pain the way you made him sound.

Ps: Don’t make your daughter’s friend hold edward. LOL! ;) Unless maybe she’s sitting on a bed or on the floor so he won’t have a big fall.

Seperate him on his own. The leg will heal on its own. A splint is near impossible for a toad.

no! don’t do anything when something like this occurs. Toads are wild animals and aren’t usually sold in captivity, hence their natural ability to break and heal themselves just like humans. If he’s getting around, don’t do anything! And definetely be careful the next time someone wants to hold him!
