2 toads? 3? Next week I am going to my friend’s house, this is where I rescued my current toad from a lawnmower. She has a lot of toads near her house and I was thinking of getting another american toad or two for my Mrs. DaVinci (current toad).
Is it possible to have a few more, and do I introduce them formally or just put one in the tank with my older one. And will they fight? :S Than again toads live together in the wild...
Thanks!

2 toads? 3? I wouldn’t suggest getting toads or anything from the wild.. I mean.. there for 1: No Parasite free, and could have mites. 2: It’s cruel because the toad is going from one big area to a small tank, plus he has a home in the wild. 3: They will probably be stressed do to the fact there used to the wild, and they could die from stress... maybe.. just maybe. You also need to know what all the details for raising them.. They are easy to raise but if you keep wild ones, you have to really know what your doing... Rocks like in your pic of your one tank will not work.. they can get impaction from trying to eat and die, also, it’s really uncomfortable to them.. buying co-co fiber or eco-earth is your best bet.
Make sure you know what your doing as far as water... They can dry up and die real easy and if your water isn’t declorified they will die pretty quick. So make sure you have something like "start right" to put in the water to get all the harmful chemicals to frogs out. Ones the water is healthy for the from, make sure you mist the tank about 2 times or so a day.. as they love water and moisture.
-PLEASE IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS OR NEED A CARE SHEET, YOU CAN REFER TO MINE ON THE TOAD SECTION.. GOOD INFO.. JUST IF YOU KEEP SOMETHING MAKE SURE YOU KEEP IT RIGHT.

2 toads? 3? Thanks. I know I’m changing the rocks soon and also my water is declorified. I do moist his tank twice a day already. I’m not sure if I will end up even getting them anymore because I just found out 3 hours ago that my new hamster had 6 babies. So I think I might just get a pac-man toad from a nearby petshop instead and put him in a different tank...He’s been in that store for nearly 2 months now the poor baby :(

2 toads? 3? Honestly.. I would let that one wild caught toad go that you have and just get a pacman frog or a few Fire belly toads..

2 toads? 3? Or, if you are keeping him, tell us more about the setup. That phrase "changing the rocks" worries me. They should have a soft burrowable substrate such as cocofiber, or, failing, that, at least some facsmile such as multiple layers of moist unbleached (brown) paper towels. A few big rocks for climbing are good if the toad likes them, but most would actually rather have more ground space, or something that doubles as a cave, such as half-buried flowerpot.

2 toads? 3? I am unable to post a picture, but I am going to be changing the rocks to a more suitable substrate such as brown paper towels or something suitable... I want to get the pacman toad but I really can not let my toad go now. I get attached too quickly.

2 toads? 3? ... Well if you keep it, it’s kinda like someone coming to your house and taking you away forever to a small cell where all you eat is the same meal every day.. It sucks. I know your attached but, it will be better for your toad in the long run. Paper towls are ok, but i like the more natural looking stuff.. like the coco fiber or eco earth. Also a pacman is in my opinion, alot easier to raise.. All they do is sit in dirt all day, and they can get huge, like big as or if you have small hands, Bigger then your hands.

2 toads? 3? I know, I’m sad to say, well most of you guys will be happy, I let him go. I’m not going for a pacman toad because I like more lively animals, I was thinking of buying a corn snake but my mom disagreed with that, any suggestions?

2 toads? 3? Yea, there kinda hard to keep for beginners, i mean there not that hard, but harder to keep then any kind of frog. I would suggest getting a few fire belly toads.. they are about 5 dollars, and you could keep 3 of them in a 15gl tank. They are low maintenance and easy to care for. A basic half water half land is all needed. You can use the rocks you have and slope them up to one side, then put some coco fiber on top of the rocks so the fbt’s don’t ingest it. Then a 10 dollar water filter would be good to have to keep the water clean. Then get some plants and maybe a fake log thing from walmart thats about 8 bucks. You could get all but the food from walmart .. Basically, a light (not to hot, i use a 18" fluorescent bulb in the lighting department at walmart) then get some plants from walmart, or the dollar store that are fake. A filter from walmart, a hide from walmart, and thats about it.. and you can order or go to the local pet shop and get a little bag or coco fiber/eco earth (same thing) They also come in bricks or it, and i got a pack of 3 bricks for about 5 bucks.
Any more questions, or need help, just let me know.
