I wouldn’t advise it.. I mean some people do, but even though they have the same name don’t make them the same.. I mean it’s your decision but i personally wouldn’t.

my sister has toads and they like to eat things that move. they dont loke to eat anything that is already dead. you can still try to feed them freezedried stuff if u want. i dont know exactly if they will eat it.
good luck!

Definitely feed them live, it would be hard to feed freeze dried stuff.. Crickets are probably the best and cheapest to have and feed them. I will get an updated picture i hope soon. My friend dropped and broke the good camera i had so i will try and see what it will look like with my phone. The ones in my photos are years old..

Not only are newt and toad toxins harmful to each other (there’s no immediate warning light that flashes; the tiny levels just keep little by little doing cumumlative damge until, too often, one day suddenly you realize it’s too late) but newts need to be kept in the coolest part of your house. Toads like it at least five degrees warmer; newts actually do best around 68F.
Freeze-dried food can be used for animals that will eat them. You’ll get a better feeding reaction with live, and probably better nutritional value, but once it learns to recognize feeding time you may gain some flexibility. I’ve had amphibians happily eat tubifex cubes as well as various small crustaceans suchg as krill and daphnia. My cane toad’ll even eat gigantic canned grasshopers. It’s worth finding a type they’ll eat and keeping a jar handy for emergencies, even though overall I suggest live.
