Fire Belly toad help
Today, I was feeding my FB. I have gravel on the bottom, and big rocks on top. I think one of the little ones somehow got to the top. When she aimed for it, she missed, and she was swallowing something... I’m not sure she swallowed it but I think she did. Is this bad?

Fire Belly toad help possibly, depends on the size of what they swallowed. when feeding my toads, they have swallowing really small things before on accident (grains of sand or dirt) and it didnt hurt them. often i find remains of things they eat in their poo, like bug legs or wings. if you think there could be a problem take them to a vet.

Fire Belly toad help Vet wouldn’t be able to do much anyway. This is why you don’t use larger substrate with lunge predators. There’s not much you can do except watch and hope for the best. Change her over to either larger river rocks that can’t be swallowed, or cocofiber that can be easily passed.
You can administer olive oil on a cricket and get her to eat it to help her lube up her bowls, but I have not heard of this method working on gravel.

Fire Belly toad help HE SURVIVED! YEAH!!! I use river rocks on top but like I said I have two substates one layer on top, other on bottom. The smaller gravels are on bottom, but somehow it got on top! But, yeah, vets couldn’t do much for a little frog... like do surgery or somethin? LOL
