Ideas my sister has toads with a waterfall in the tank. water splashes from the waterfall and it gets on the side of the tank and starts to mold. my question is how can she stop the water splashing or stop the mold from growing? she has been cleaning the mold but it seems to get harder to get off.

Ideas Are you sure it’s mold. Sounds like it could be hard water stains. Simplest solution is to get rid of the waterfall. A toad would have little use for it and it’s an overpriced sucker item that the petstore pawned off on her. A bowl of water changed daily is all she really needs. I know those water fall decorations and they are fairly worthless. The only other solution is to move the waterfall to an area of the tank so the water won’t reach the sides. How big of a tank is it and what kind of toad does she have?

Ideas She has a red belly toads. The main reason she has a waterfall is because it also is a filter. She wouldnt be able to do a tub of water because she lives in arizona and the water in arizona is filtered many times an chemicaly cleaned so many times before it gets to anyone’s home. All the chemicals in the water would not be good for the toads. She also wouldnt be able to filter sink water because that just does nothing. She cant use water from water bottles because she drinks a lot of water and she isnt exactly the person with money. Her toads live in a ten gallon tank. She also said they have gotten darker color, im not sure if thats bad or not.

Ideas Get a $4 bottle of Prime or Amquel (original not plus). It is a water conditioner for fish that removes the toxic elements from tap water. Cheapest way to go, and you should always treat your water, filtered or unfiltered.
