 Would you kindly sex my American toad (I’m not an expert)
I know the basic guidelines. I’m about 60% sure it’s a female. It is more rectangular than circular, it has fairly skinny legs, but what concerns me is the throat. It has a black-spotted belly and throat, and it is a yellow-cream color. The throat looks about even with the stomach, but still has some black spots. I’ll try to get pics of it, but she’s fairly new in my house, so while he sits fine for a good minute on my hand, he gets a little squamish when I try to look at his underside. Thus, if you can tell from only the back, that would be greatly appreciated. As I said, I’ll try to get pics up later today or tomorrow. Thanks!

This is an overhead view of the tank. It is a 90qt. (abt. 22gal) plastic Rubbermaid tub. The substrate is a good 3 inches of chemical-free topsoil. I bought organic potting soil for his next tank cleaning. The log is his favorite hide, but the upside down black bowl is for security, as it is small and black and has only a small opening. His diet is a staple of small crix, about 10 every day (that’s all he’ll eat), sometimes a few mealies, and the occasional treat waxworm or earthworm (he loves earthworms :D).

A pic of the underside. He was actually pretty good with doing this for me. He didn’t release water or milk! (he got a nice juicy earthworm after this one)!
Maybe this is better. It seems that the throat (since it was a bit folded) looks yellower in this one. Probably judge from the previous one. Thanks everybody!!!
