 We need a little help!

we have tadpoles that are starting to come out of the water. we think they are toads but not really sure. we would like to know what they will eat now that they are out of the water. will red worms or little garden worms work or do i need to buy something for them. will ants work too?

When my tadpoles first started out of the water it took them a couple days to start eating. I believe they won’t be hungry until they have completely absorbed their tail. You can feed them ants but based on info on here I fed them "pinhead" crickets bought from a store. I’ve heard that wingless fruit flies are good too but never tried it.

Depending on how carnovorous the any species can be, they’re risky.
Also, ants are like beetles; they have a very high chiton to meat ratio. Not good staple diets for most species.
Lightless fruit flies are excellant. Pinhead crickets are adequate, and for many froglets are just a way more realistic size.
