Toadi Hi, I live in North Wales, UK and 4 months ago I found a common toad on the lawn, no idea where she came from. I think she’s female, as she makes no noise. When I found her she appeared to have an injured back leg, so I took her inside and she seems very happy in the set up we have for her. On closer inspection, the leg seems to have what is maybe a cyst by the knee and I wonder whether anyone can advise on this. I have been told of parasites that attack tadpoles causing deformity of limbs, but there is no deformity as such. She is doing really well and we love her very much, but would be pleased for any information on this. Thankyou.

Toadi I live in the US, and keep toads in all my reptile enclosures
as my "nightime clean up crew" as they are active at night
when rogue insects are active....

Toadi Rokdog, thank you for replying and for the link. However I have, and continue to do, lots of reading and research on the internet about toads themselves. I’m sorry if I didn’t make it clear that it is purely the cyst that I need advice on and I can’t actually see any reference to it within the link. Thank you again though for taking the time to reply.
