American toad hibernating or dead!?
I caught an American toad in august of last year and decided to keep it. It was great pet for about two in a half months. Until it buried itself like usual and didn’t come up and still hasent.!! I wated patiently in the winter months thinking it was hibernating. So know I’m wondering should I dig in looking for it. What happened Wat should I do! ( I fed it regurly) no problems.

American toad hibernating or dead!? Maybe you should try to dig it up to see what is going on; normally it should have come out already. Can you describe what type of setup you have? I speculate that the soil be too dry (in which case it could have become dehydrated)... so if the toad is still alive, you may want to moisten the soil a little... it’s also a good idea to have a 1" layer of pebbles under the soil for drainage purposes, so the soil won’t get too wet.
Whatever happens, keep me posted please.

American toad hibernating or dead!? The soil was dry, I did poor some water in it today. I jade it in a 12by12by12cage before it hibernated I’m guessing I placed it in a small 5 by 5by by8 cage. If I dig it out which I might do today what do I do to nurse back its heath.(this was the first time a kept a wild caught toad of any kind so aloought of beginner mistakes)

Well, first see if it’s still alive. If so, it might be a good idea to place it in a shallow bowl of clean spring water so it can re-hydrate.
