 A Good and Proper Toad!
I can’t really take credit for teaching Tex this, but he eats from a fork! Since the wet weather we have a ton of slugs on our patio and surrounding areas. I put them on a white plastic spoon or fork, hold them in front of Tex’s face and he gobbles them up! He wants to eat every night!reako45

kool thats really odd you posted that because i got one of my FBT’s to eat a wax worm straight from my hand last night just put his 2 lil feet on my hands and just casually gobled it up! lol

Frogs and toads are such cool pets and smarter than people give them credit for being. They each have their own personalities. Bing my Northern Pygmy toad acts like a crash test dummy to get food. Skynard (Southern) & Jabba (Indonesian) favor playing it cool and waiting for food to hop/crawl in front of them. Lynard my other Southern toad is a total spaz and freaks out every feeding time (he probably thinks my hand is that big hognose snake he seesin his nightmares) til he realizes there are crickets in the tank w/ him. Butthead lies crickets but goes nuts for waterbugs and waxworms. Your FBT that eats from your hand definitely recognizes you. They’re really intersting little creatures. LOL!reako45

Yeah thats very true!! If i went up to a random kid in my school and said i own fire bellied toads! theyd be like toads??? there boring!! i have a dog!! or cat or w.e lol!!

That is true. Dogs and cats are great, but these guys are by far, more interesting! And as said above, they all have different personalities. but when they are hungry, I have three little faces all lined up at the glass staring at me!!!
