Could it be a missing "finger"????

I noticed last night that (on one of my males) it appears to be missing the tip of his finger (or what ever you call them on toads!!) When I compared his one "hand" to the other there is a long "finger" that looks like it’s been cut off!!!!! It is kind of stumpy looking and there appears to be a whiteish looking round thing on the end???

I’ll try to take a picture of it and post it in a bit. Anyone know what might be going on??

Yes, actually, it’s the more aggressive male and no, there is nothing it could have gotten it trapped in. I just gotta figure out how to post a picture and I’ll put one up of it.

Hey Tmom, Today I noticed my FBT is missing one too! The little red tip is gone. I have no idea when it happened, it healed over already. I could have even bought it that way and I just noticed it today.
I’m going to go back and look at all the previous pics I took and see if it ever had it. I wonder if this is a common occurrence with FBT?

Probably, their fingers are pretty small and delicate.

My husband and I tried to snap a few pictures, but they all turned out so fuzzy!!!

Ya, it is definitely a missing finger...I think it might be bone or cartilage that I see on the tip. Ick.........My poor little boy!!! :(

It doesn’t seem to bother him alot, but who knows??

It’s not uncommon for a toad to loose the tip of a finger or toe. It should heal over quickly. Just keep an eye on it and if it apears to be getting worse then let me know and I’ll give you some advice on how to treat it.
