Hey, just now reading these boards, agree with the gopher tortoise, my neighbor "rescued" one crossing the road, I wanted to slap him but he honestly thinks he is being helpful, luckily he has a large back yard and his pomeranian (sp) doens’t mess with it now. Best thing I can see from it all is his backyard is getting dug up.
BTW, how many of you stop to help turtles/tortoises cross the road or stop traffic to keep them from getting hit, luckily my wife is the same way.

Try reading the thread ... it is Gopher tortoise ... it looks nothing like a Russian ever would anyway ... same to the person who said it was a Sulcata ... don’t say things like that unless you are CERTAIN because it can lead to bad husbandry by the people who have to take care of these tortoises when they follow your instructions for a totally wrong breed of tortoise. You could end up killing tortoises that way .. or lead someone to keep a wild, endangered tortoise for a pet ...don’t do it.
