 Hermans alone

im thinking of getting a hermans tortoise but i can only get 1 and there always in pairs.

I agree with DD there, any tortoise can live happily alone...i dont think they are animals that need a friend or travel or live in packs or herds or groups.

Unlike a human, or leopard or tiger or something like that a tortoise does not need its mother to get food from when they are born due to the fact they dont possess teats for milk and they are natural herbivores. meaning they eat vegetation only. Which means really straight from birth they aready are sort of independent on their parents.

Where as you will see a human with someone or other, company and stuff like that.
You will see a leopard baby or tiger baby with their parents for a few months or sometimes over a year.
And sometimes they travel in packs or groups like wolves would or elephants.

A tortoise ...will live happily alone.

Anyghow thats my input sorry for rambling.
