 3ft tank

Any hatchling will fit in a 3ft ENCLOSURE but in the long run they will need a larger living space...
And they should not be in a glass tank.. for 2 reasons... 1) they dont understand glass and will keep trying to walk through it... 2) the quality of air circulation is VERY poor in a glass tank

 3ft tank

glass tanks, and wooden vivs with glass fronting are all bad.
They lack air circulation and can stress your tortoise.

A hatchling or small young tortoise will fit in a 3ft enclosure for possibly a few years depending on their growth rate, but like Jackie said, they will require larger living quaters. And depending on species! the small species need roughly 4ft by 6ft for one adult, but the larger species sometimes need a hole backk yard to themselves or MUCH bigger such as 8ft by 8ft.

Depending which species your wanting, you should do some research.
