Your greek tort will need a UVB lamp and a heat lamp... You could just get a mercury vapor heat lamp that gives off heat for basking and UVB
You should not feed your tort anything that has pesicides or fertilizer(such as mircale grow)... it does go to the leaves and flowers..
You could take the hibiscus out of the mircale grow potting soil rinse off as much as possible from the roots and replant in organic potting soil and wait 3-6 months and then feed the leaves/flowers
I would not let him roam on your lawn either.. I put my torts in a baby pool with coconut coir/sand substrate, some hay, and a hide to go outside
Also.. I have 2 leopards and 2 russians.. Their substrate is 50/50 Coconut coir/playsand (2different enclosures) Not sure of the correct substrate for greeks.. someone will surely be along to answer that
Hope that helps, Jackie:)

Hi, you need a heat light and uvb light thats all.

Also your tortoise cannot live indoors all its life, when you get warm whether he or she must be kept outside during the warm months of the year.
The natural heat and uv light does them the best of the world.

If your only getting one greek, before adding a new greek to your current one you must quarentine for a minimum of 90 days if not longer. just to check theyre all fine and well.
also they react fine to humans i am assuming i own hermanns, but they are similar in care and what not. So yeah id imaginge theyd be fine with humans. As far as i know most tortoises dont like being handled all that much.

What you should do is mow the lawn, cut down all the grass and stuff let it re-grow back fresh so the tortoise doesnt get sick.

Also substrate is simple, you should use a combination of soil (top soil or even loambased it usually best, make sure it has no pesticides, fertilizers or anything like that in it) and sand mixed in a 50/50 percent of each.
If you dont want that then you can use bed-a-beast, aspen, hemcore anything like that.
just never use wood chips or alfaalfa pellets for rabbits.

and finally a list fo food!

btw during winter when so many weeds and plants are not available you may feed grocery store foods such as romain lettuce, spring mixes, salad mixes and similar things but never feed catfood, meat, fruit, tomatoes or cucumber ro anything like that. just stick to leafy things and the list i just gave.
