 Is this good?

I am thinking of geting a sulcata Tortoise. I have a 40 gal. setup with a stand, sand, cacti, lighting, water and food dishes, and plenty of hiding places. do I need any thing eles?

Hi, a 40 gal aquarium is what you mean right?

If so thats not good at all.

A rubbermaid tub, storage tub, or even an indoor rabbit cage would be much better.

Also, having just sand for substrate is not a good idea, try having a combination of sand and soil mixed together in a 50/50 percentage of each.
Or a bed-a-beast substrate.

Also depending what cacti thats fine.

I did what you said about the soil and sand, but I’m geting the baby tortises today and I don’t think I can get a Rabit cage in time. Do u think it would be ok if I used the 40 gal. Aqurium for a few months? And the cactus is a fake cactus.

if its a hatchling or baby, then you can use the aquarium for a while yes until you can get an indoor rabbit cage or an alternative enclosure thats better.

I am getting them from a breeder who’s adult sucata’s just had their eggs hatch and they are only 5 days old!!! so yes they are babys!!!
