 PLEASE HELP IDENTIFY BABY TORTOISE

I need help! Someone dropped off this baby tortoise at my doorstep stating they could no longer care for it. They wrote that it was a sulcata which I know it is not. I have been doing so much research and can not for the life of me figure it out! I’m hoping it’s not a gopher tortoise!

I wouldnt thought so, the Texas Tortoises are usually more grey scaled, and darker shells.
The gopher is more brightly colored.

hmmm. ive seen some like that baby gophers coloring before (I live in south texas)
But yeah I agree with you mostly about the scales.
But the baby texas tort color is lighter than the older specimens.
but yeah, now I see and my best guess would be a Gopher or Desert(still a gopher)

I am pretty sure that is an african sulcata tortoise. I have a full grown one.

It is deffinately not a sulcata tortoise, if you look at the adult gopher, desert or texas tortoise, and then look at the babies and the same with a sulcata tortoise...you will see their is LOTS of different features of them.
