How do I build an outdoor tort. cage

Heres what I did:

I dug a 2ft deep trench that measures 7 ft by 28 ft and 10ft at the widest point. I used treated 2x2s that were 5 ft long. It took me an entire day to build but only because I built it against the side of my pool screen (which you could see I had to line with treated plywood). I built it three years ago and only a couple of the stakes have broke (I am clumsy and I tripped into them lol). I have 2 sulcatas in there but I plan on making the cage bigger. Make sure you measure the perimeter in feet (just the sides you are building if you are putting it against the side of your house), multiply that by twelve, then divide by a little smaller than the width of your tortoise. That should give you the amount of stakes needed to build your pen.

P.S. Did that make sense hahaha

Remember to measure your tortoise in inches, then make the gaps reasonably smaller (enough so they cant turn sideways to get through). Of course there are plenty of other ways to build a pen, this is just my dads idea that I carried out. Dont remember how much It cost but it was less them 150 for sure, most likely under 100. Hope I helped!

I should also mention that after I dug a roughly 2ft deep trench, I used a mallet to sink the 5’ spikes an extra foot into the ground. They are 2’ above and 3’ under ground.

or if you dont want to dig up your garden, for hatchlings and Young smaller tortoises you can just use a large indoor rabbit cage which you can use for both Indoor and outdoor.
Right now, since my grandparents are often out and forget to leave me their gate key for access to the garden, i use my indoor cage as a outdoor cage too.

heres my cage indoors, and then few photos of them outdoors in the cage!

or generally just use a rabbit pen which is what i mostly use until i can start building a permanent enclosure. My babies are small right now so they dont need a massive outdoor pen just yet.

mine are around 11-12 inches long, it all depends on how close you put the spikes together. How old is he? How big is he?

Some from Busch Gardens:
