 Red footed tortoise

I had this turtle for around 6 months and he had this problem when I got him, his eye wont open and it still occurs today. I know how to treat it though but it only works for about 3 days when I first got him it was hours. So I know he is getting better this has me worried that it is lasting so long. What could be the problem is it the enclosure? Temps? Humidity? I also another to ask all you experts out there. What age do red footed tortoises grow to there fullest? Mine is a cherry head so it doesn’t grow as big as the regular red footed tortoise. Thank you.

Thanks! What light is turtle friendly? It is good for them and causes no eye problems. I bet there are a bunch but can you tell one?

any reptile UV light is good. make sure its a UVB light.

Apparently now though you should leave it on for 12 hours away from the tortoise before putting it in a tortoises pen as the uv coming off it is too strong for them.

or thats what i read somewhere
