What I did with the Eastern boxie I found

I took him back to where I found him, down in the park. I found him when I was out riding my horse, and so he got another horse ride back to that spot. I kept him for a couple of weeks, and found him very interesting to watch. He really did not act afraid of me at all. While he was here, he ate banana. I offered him all kinds of stuff, but that is the only thing I actually saw him eat. I kept him in my lettuce patch. I let him out almost every day and he walked around. Turtles are very determined creatures..if they want to go someplace, you cannot deter them. When I set him back down in the little creek, he started off and never looked back...lol. He is probably telling his turtle family all about his experience. I miss him but know it was the best thing to do. He wanted to be a free turtle.

Thats great! well done!

If you wanted a turtle, you could just go and buy a box turtle from someone.
They are very interesting turtles.

Unfortunately, i live in the UK, so i am unsure whether they are legal in this country as pets. However, i have seen a few for sale in pet stores here and there. And when i was little we got given an old boxie named Mertle the turtle. She was fun too.
