 Aggresive desert tortoise???

okay, so we recently adopted a new desert tortoise and since we have brought him home he has been super aggresive towards our other DTs, his behaviors include:

- Biting other tortoises arms, legs, and faces.

- Head bobbing (constantly)

- Fighting with the larger Male.

note: this tortoise is only about 9 inches long. lol

but what my dillema is, is i dont know if this DT will get over this aggression or if i need to seperate them completely.

I am not sure, but it sounds very much like he wants to breed.

THats what most tortoises do when breeding, biting, head bobbing, ramming, fighting with other males.

Its either that or he is wanting to dominate all the other males within the pen.

yeah but he is drawing blood from the other tortoises. Im pretty sure thats not just aggression or the want to breed.

Yes, when males breed they can draw blood. aswell as fighting with other males.

you can use cotton buds or clean cloths and just soak them in warm water and dab the wounds. IF they will let you.
also if this is happening, please seperate them.
