 Yoda’s new lair

k i just built this tanight its the old dresser that my 90 gallons on but the whole thing is solid oak so i cut a cave and opened up the middle where the droors were and wala my uva light and my ceramic heat emitter at the sand its 119 degrees hes got alot more room and he obviously loves his cave i put a small heat pad in there under the sand he loooves it hes right ontop of it i checked the temp and the sand is about 80 degrees nice and cozy oh yea and its 5 feet long by 22 inches deep and if your wondering about the blue thing its a tarp so sand change will be easy and if he pees it wont touch the wood

thats my 90 gallon i just have some anoles in there and 2 tree frogs temporarily til their tank is done and 2 trtles til theres is done im really busy building terarriums then im turning that into a full blown vivarium

Looks great If I were you though i would mix soil in with the sand.Cuts down on impaction and lets the, burrow better

Hey fisherman125, the soil should be stone, chemical, fertilizer,and pesticides free. The best soil is topping soil, john innes is great!

I get mine from home depot.It cost like $5.They sell all kinds of organic non fertilizer soil.It will be better for him in the long run..thats what i use is playsand and soil mixed 50% 50% and it works great even helped me clear up an RNS problem my leo had a couple of years ago.Keeps everything perfect.If you have just sand it easier for them to enjest it and then it just settles at the bottom of there bellys till it builds up and nothing can get past.

will do ! im tryin gto help him get over a little case of the sniffles its just becu he had to go a few days without a heat source hes getting much better lots of fluids and lots of greens keeps the vet away

Just as long as it dosnt continue and I bet doing that substrate will help.My Leo was on all kinds of meds for it and i had to give him a shot every day and it almost killed him as soon as i switched the substrate to the mix he was fine.
