Sick tort
| Hi all. I am new here. I have a russian tortoise, and he seems to have gotten sick. i’m worried its pnemonia or a really bad cold. he sticks his neck out and seems to gasp every now and then, and he has snot bubbles coming out of his nose, he seems to be raspy. I have put the shower on and so its steamy and humid in the bathroom and hes in the shower with a mist coming out of the shower head. he seems to be more active in the shower now since i’ve put him in there. is there an over the counter med i can buy for him? |

| I don’t know much about torts (just other reptiles) but it sounds like it has a respiratory infection from what I do know. I would suggest taking it to a good reptile vet, not stressing it out, and keeping it warm. The vet will probably prescribe some antibiotics or give it a shot...whatever it takes. Good luck. My last iguana got a respiratory infection and unfortunately he died on the way to the vet. He had other complications but I would take it seriously just the same. |

I love my tortoises, they get a warm bath every am and fresh everything, I look like a healthnut at the store.. good luck. Claire If for some reason you can not get on the site, let me know you should be able to find it under Pogospals Russion Tortoise. |
