AILING BOX TURTLE One of our box turtles has been very sluggish and not eating. Her eyes are puffed and closed and weepy. It may be an eye infection. Does anyone know of any remedies for turtles with this type of affliction?

AILING BOX TURTLE Could be a respiratory infection or yes an eye infection. Can you tell us what your set up is like? Temps, humidity, substrate, lighting? Is the substrate really dry or is part of it nice and moist? Is there a discharge from its nose too? Depending on what it is will depend on wether you need to go to the vet. have you been soaking her and flushing the eyes out? You can use a saline solution for her eyes, but if its a resp. infec. you will need to see a vet.

AILING BOX TURTLE It could also be a vitamin A deficiancy. I have another link that may help you but I would recomend seeing a vet if she is lethargic and not eating.
