 California desert tortoise? [endangered?]

hey guys i thought id share some pictures with you of my grandperents CA desert tortoise. They have 3 of them. This species is endangered, and is not in the pet trade. you need proper licences etc to own them. [wich my grandperents have] some day these beauts will be mine to care for. and probably my grandchildrens someday. they are only 12 years old ;D

Yep, the Cal desert tortoise is on the endangered species list, I have one too, along with the permit from the department of fish and game to keep him. My kids already know he and my two Sulcatta’s along with an assortment of snakes will be in my will to them someday.

This is my Mr. Toodles the desert tortoise. Your grandmas are really dark, where did she get them? I adopted mine from a Tortoise club, once they are taken from the desert they can’t be re-released.

they are actually from a wildlife museum were we live. they were layed by a female they have in captivity and hatched. they have pyramidding slightly idk if that has anything to do with it.
