Sulcata not eating....
I bought a baby sulcata last month, I had her in timothy hay as a bedding. Then I read on here that I should use play sand and top soil so I switched. Now my tortoise wont eat or go in her hide. does anyone know what I should do to get her to eat?

Sulcata not eating.... Can you give some info about your set up? Temps on hot and cool side, what kind of thermometer do you have? do you keep part of the enclosure somewhat humid or moist? What are you feeding?
How long has it been since you change the substrate to the soil/sand? So she hasn’t eaten at all since you changed it?
Please answer all the questions so we can try and help you figure out what has her stressed.

Sulcata not eating.... It could just be s/he need to get use to the substrate change, just keep offering fresh food everyday. Hopefully, s/he will start eating again soon, if not you may need to make a trip to a reptile vet. Good luck.

Sulcata not eating.... My little baby was the same way. I had Marlin on hay for almost six months before I realized it wasnt humid enough for him. I changed and it took him awhile to start eating again. He just burried himself and slept away. But I think that was his way of saying he liked it. If you feed him everyday then I would just not offer him food for 24 hours then put it back in there. He might just not be hungry. Plus the season is changing and even thought they dont hibernate I think it still effects every living thing.

Sulcata not eating.... She finally started eating so I guess she just needed to get used to her new environment. Thanks to
all who answered.
