 Identify this tortoise

We live in Virginia Beach Virginia and had this guy come strolling across the yard today. Can anyone help identify it? Does not appear to be native to this area.

not sure what kind but definately not a tortoise. It looks to be a box turtle.

i think box turtle too. u could look up info and try to figure out if it is native, but if it was surviving before it should keep on surviving, so i would just take it back to where u got it.=)
